Winston Warrior, an Atlanta-bred R&B singer and songwriter, is ecstatic to announce the release of his debut album, Lifeology 101. The album, a completely independent release, will be available via Winston Warrior’s own label, Vintage Records, on February 1, 2011.
Lifeology 101 is a dream come true for Winston Warrior, who was an original member of the ‘90s R&B group, ‘Lo Profile. The group celebrated performance and press accolades to support their undeniable talent, however, a recording contract that was within reach was quickly snatched away, along with their dream of success. After years of spiraling through a vicious cycle of self-doubt and insecurity, Winston Warrior, with the support of his close friends, pushed through and has reemerged with life lessons share.

For Lifeology 101, Winston Warrior fashions a relatable storyboard of experiences common to all. While most of the songs’ thematic content revolves around the phases of love, the overarching message of the album is one of progression; maintaining the pursuit of your goals in spite of life’s obstacles. With the creative genius of collaborators and producers, Don Vito (Don Vito Productions), Selasi “The African Kid”, Sean McMillion, and Trey “DJ Gman” Thomas, Winston Warrior reminisces on his heartbreaks, failures, achievements, and how he found closure and knowledge in every experience to become the man and artist he is today.

An avid fan of soul and R&B, Winston Warrior creates music that embraces the original sounds while honoring the contributions of the genres’ legendary figures. His throwback lyricism melded with modern hip hop beats are precisely why Winston coins his music “Vintage R&B.” Pairing warm vocal tones with picturesque narration and vintage synths, Winston Warrior has created a 12 track album that showcases both his strong writing and vocal abilities. Additionally, in similar fashion to today’s most prominent indie artists and learning from lessons passed, Winston Warrior, maintains his artistic vision and takes control of the music, manufacturing, promotion, and art direction of Lifeology 101.

Windy City Songbird Ashaki Releases Self-Titled Two Song EP November 2, 1010

Ashaki’s new EP titled Ashaki will be available exclusively on iTunes, Amazon and e-Music on November 2, 2010.

Featuring two of the sultry songstresses hit singles, Ashaki serves as the perfect backdrop to the fast-approaching romantic holiday season. Both songs on Ashaki were inspired by the artist’s personal experiences in life and love. The EP’s first release, Connected, has been described as some of the  talent’s greatest work:

Connected was written while I was in a long distance relationship. My significant other at the time was on the other side of the world but despite the thousands of miles between us, our connection was intense and undeniable,” says the hopeless romantic.

The Connected video features  internationally recognized fine artist and graphic designer, Christophe Roberts.

The EP’s second single, Serendipity, which was produced by the Grammy Award-winning Devo Springsteen (John Legend, Brittany Spears and Common) encourages the ladies to trust their intuition when it comes to love as it never steers them wrong. “As a woman, we’re always two steps ahead in knowing where a relationship is going if we stay true to ourselves,” advises Ashaki.

Hailing from the Windy City and living in Harlem, Ashaki is a true triple threat, balancing the art of singing, songwriting and dancing quite effortlessly. Known for her hearty and infectious laugh, Ashaki has shared her musical gifts at many well-respected Manhattan venues including SOB’s, Tillman’s and The Shrine.
